MATTHEW 6:28-29
28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
It is amazing to think of how much time, money and effort man spends on achieving and maintaining beauty. We judge beauty in tanned toned bodies or wealth, fancy cars and diamond rings set in gold or silver. But God says look at my creation! Check out the lillies or a wild flower, the colors, the intricacies in shape and design. Jesus tells us here in Matthew’s gospel that those flowers were made by the Lord for us to enjoy and to build our faith. Each time we look at a beautiful flower, or a gorgeous sunset we are to be reminded that if Jesus can take care of all this He can and will take care of you! Rest and Rejoice in that glorious truth today!
